Stunning Entry

I wanted to share this gorgeous entry that I found on the 1stDibs Photo Archive. The photo was taken by Pieter Estersohn and I don't know who the designer is, but kudos to whomever is responsible! I am extremely jealous of the black lacquered doors with the centered knobs. If they were mine I'd probably just sit and stare at them for hours on end. I also adore the timeless black and white checkerboard marble floors. Simply lovely, isn't it?

How to Hide Lamp Cords

I get all kinds of questions from readers - mostly about sourcing and paint - but I also get some that are more utilitarian. One that I get pretty often is in regards to hiding cords. The question is usually spurred by this vignette...

To hide the lamps cords in this scenario (and many others) I used 3M Command Decorating Clips:

To get the cords to stay tucked out of sight, I place hooks along the back side of the console legs. I position the hooks in an alternating pattern in terms of what direction the clip opening faces because this seems to keep the cord straighter.

The end result is the closest thing I can get to cordless lamps!

If you have a trickier situation that requires lamp cords to be more conspicuous, it might be worth upgrading the cord to a swankier cloth-covered wire. It's more charming that the typical plastic-covered ones and slightly more discreet as well. Sundial Wire has lots of color options and be sure to check your local lamp shop about what they keep in stock too.

H & H Home Tastemaker Tag Sale on OKL Tomorrow!

In2Green Blankets

A while back I became fixated on this Greek key blanket that I saw on Taigan. Much to my dismay, the seller couldn't fulfill my order because they had already sold out. The product listing didn't name the manufacturer so I couldn't go and find it at another retailer. I begrudgingly gave up on the purchase.

Well, today One Kings Lane is having an Eco Chic sale and "my" blanket is among the items for sale! Of course, the one I like best sold out before I could get my hands on it (plus it wasn't the color I needed) but, the silver lining is that I discovered who makes it. The company is called In2Green and besides the fact that they produce environmentally responsible goods, they produce many (if not all) of them right here in the USA. Their blankets come in all kinds of fun colors and patterns and best of all, they are machine wash and dry...hallelujah! Here are some of the ones on the OKL sale...

Rose Colored Glasses - Pink Is Everywhere!

Have you noticed how pink is incredibly ubiquitous these days? Besides seeing it in fashion throughout the spring and summer, I've definitely been noticing it popping up in every facet of home decor over the past year. I'm usually keen on keeping my interiors gender-neutral so I don't suggest using too much pink in any room, however, pink is a fantastic accent color. It brings vitality and playfulness to a space and it complements a wide variety of colors. I probably like it best with blues, as illustrated below by the Nate Berkus rose gold lamp with the navy shade and the Quadrille Tree Peony fabric.

Top Shop: Again & Again

One of Dallas' best furniture consignment shops, Again & Again, has opened up a new location in the Dallas Design District! The HUGE 14,000 square foot space is on Howell Street, off Riverfront Boulevard, behind Lost Antiques. 

I went two weekends ago and snapped some photos of their fabulous inventory (which probably has changed by now...things move in and out very quickly there).  Just like in the tiny hot pink house, their original location, the new space is stocked full of vintage furniture, lighting, and decor. Again & Again also offers upholstery and refinishing services so you'll find some top-notch fabric books and samples at the shop too. 

An added bonus, owner Leslie Pritchard is nothing short of amazing...gorgeous, stylish, friendly, honest, helpful, and knowledgeable. So, you'll be in good hands with her whether you're consigning, shopping, or reupholstering something!

What do you think of their inventory? I'm always impressed with the wide range of styles that are represented. It's not uncommon to run across some seriously pedigreed stuff like Baker nightstands and Eames chairs, so if you're in or around Dallas, make sure that Again & Again is on your radar. I'm really excited about the new location because it'll be more convenient for me to stop in more often!
