L-O-V-I-N-G COCOCOZY!

Wow...long time, no blog! I'm so sorry for my absence lately. As previously mentioned, the first issue of High Gloss made its debut last week so I've been working away on that and I spent last week in New York for our launch party and meetings. Sadly, blogging just hasn't fit into the hectic schedule, but I'm happy to be back at it now.

One of the best things about my involvement with High Gloss is that I get to see all of the latest and greatest in home decor. One of the most notable new lines is the brainchild of a fellow blogger, Coco of COCOCOZY. She has produced a gorgeous collection of fine linen decorative pillows, drapery, bedding, and cotton throws. It was so nice to see fresh, refined-yet-casual fabrics and I was so smitten with her designs that I included two of her pillows in the following High Gloss market spread:

Anyhow, I just adore the rest of the collection and wanted to share some of it with you. With lots of fabulous patterns and colors, it all looks perfectly comfy and chic. Kudos to Coco for producing such a fabulous, fresh line of soft goods!

More Shams...the peacock blue Quatrefoil style is calling my name!

What is your take on the COCOCOZY collection? Any favorite styles or colorways?

  1. I love the Sage Quatrefoil pillow you put in the magazine. The throws are all to die for!

  2. All of is to-die-for gorgeous, but EGADS!!!! The prices! $250 for a throw? $200/yard for fabric? Really? REALLY?

  3. Anon - so true! I was going to order 3 euro shams until I saw the price. Can't justify that for our guest room. I'm guessing that the quality is excellent and the economies of scale don't allow Coco to get great production pricing yet. Unfortunately, $200 per yard is out of the question for most of us!

  7. The whole collection is divine and I have no doubt the quality is second to none, BUT ... the prices?!?!?!?! She is obviously targeting a very 'high end' customer, or the rich and famous. The majority of people can't afford those sort of prices! My husband and I are wealthy people and, as much as I love the collection, there's no way we would pay those prices. Unfortunately, I think the point she has missed is that most people use soft decor items such as pillows, cushions, throws, etc to seasonally update or change their interiors as decorating trends change. They aren't items, say like classic furniture pieces, that you keep for 5-10 years and as such, people don't want to spend huge dollars on cushions, pillows, throws, etc. I mean, the european shams are $350 EACH!!!! My dining room chairs were cheaper than that each.

  9. Jane - I totally agree about how most people like to change their soft decor items and therefore don't want to invest as much in them. I obsess over many a pillow and throw, but paying over $300 just don't happen.

  10. I saw these on Cococozy's blog when they came out. I love them - but sadly can't afford them either. Well, I could afford them but can't justify that much for a pillow. I wish they were priced more affordably.

  11. I love the Quatrefoil and Plaid Solid in pink, but like everyone else… the price is out of reach. I really REALLY enjoyed the La Vie en Rose article in High Gloss, I find that like the rest of the design worlds ‘sheep’ I am falling in love with pink.
Thanks Pantone and your color of the year!

  12. I love Cococozy too! The colors and prints are gorgeous but a little pricey for my budget. Still beautiful though!

And Kyle...cheers to a beautiful first issue of High Gloss!! Gorgeous!

  13. Maybe she made them for royals around the world (Queen Elizabeth, Prince of Monaco and those type of people). I mean really - is she serious $300 for a cushion which is not even that sustainable by any means (not organic) - i better be have sweet dreams 24/7 for laying head on that pillow. In all honesty who is her target market. Miss Coco (since we dont know your real name yet - Id love to interview and ask a few questions. Your designs are absolutely gorgeous - your prices - NOT!!

  14. Hey everyone - I found out that the premium pricing is due to the fact that everything in the line is made of the highest quality materials (the linen is 11oz weight and most other manufacturers use a cotton blend or 6 oz weight linen). Everything is produced U.S. and all is custom made (no mass production). We've all gotten SO used the dirt cheap pricing that China provides, but by buying (and becoming dependent upon) Chinese goods, not only are we all compromising on quality, but we are handing our economic fate over to another country.

  15. I don't think China is the key factor. I think Coco went for too much variety too soon on a high end line.

  16. the pillows are very nice, BUT I think Coco SHOT HERSELF IN THE FOOT on this one

LIKE REALLY - NOT ECO FRIENDLY, NO HIDDEN ZIP, $300 PLUS, OK COCO. (rollseyes)
