Quick Fix for Hardwood Floors

The cleaning product aisle at Target/grocery store/Home Depot always enchants for me. Whether I actually need something or not, I find myself there. Thankfully, my bizarre obsession allowed me to discover Orange Glo Refinisher, which I noticed next to the regular OG floor cleaner that I like. According to their marketing folks, the miracle product is "a clear, quick-drying polyurethane topcoat that is formulated to be stronger and more durable than a polish," and "It protects your floors from damage and leaves a beautiful shine."

I just used it and think it worked like a charm. Since we have lots of dogs, the hardwoods around here get some wear and tear and were beginning to show the effects of canine nails. This stuff seemed to fill in the scratches a bit and I loved the freshness of the shine. Anyhow, wanted to pass on this recommendation in case your floors are looking tired!

It's probably hard to see the difference from the photos, but the floors do look kinda shiny, right?

  4. I will definitely try this product. My hardwood floors are starting to look dull after 3 years in my house. Does it make the floors slippery or leave a filmy residue?

I look forward to your blog every week!! Thank you for posting such amazing things.

  5. Michele - I was worried about the residue issue and happily, it hasn't been a problem. I think that the key is to apply it to very clean floors. Hope it works for you :)

  10. The hardwood flooring is so nice and looks very prestige with its glossy shot. we are planning to restore our house in Indianapolis and we have not yet come up with a concrete plan, so this would be a great option for flooring. I actually love it already but I still have to consult it to my husband though.
