We stayed in town so I brought out the tree and all of the decorations this past weekend. Since we've only lived in this house over a year, I'm still accumulating holiday decor. Our last house was under 1500 square feet so it only took a few things to fill that space, and they don't go as far here. Our previous living room size is also the reason why our tree is so thin...I'm hoping to get a fatter one next year!
Anyhow, I've been shopping for some new items and I've come across lots of great stuff. I got a few things at Target, Z Gallerie, and West Elm. I also found a fabulous local source for greenery...in case you live in Dallas, it's Mary Cates and Co. in Inwood Village. I got an awesome Magnolia garland (on mantel below) and a really cute wax covered pinecone wreath (shown above).
Here's what I've got going on the in living room so far...I need to start buying and wrapping presents so the the bottom of the tree doesn't look so bare!
I still have more to do...especially in our den, because I've got nothing in there. I really want this retro tinsel tree for that room. I'd also like to get a big wreath to hang over that windowpane mirror in there. We'll see how far my Christmas budget takes me!
Have you started decorating yet?

I love your skinny tree!
ReplyDeleteReally lovely! We are dealing with the same problem of not having as much decor now that we are in a house and not an apartment, but I am finding stuff here and there to fill it all out!
ReplyDeleteHaven't started yet. I like your fireplace screen. Any source suggestions for screens? Local would work as well as internet.

just beautiful. where is the fireplace screen from! love it. you have such great taste! xo
ReplyDeleteErin - the throw pillow is from West Elm...I bought it a while back so I'm not sure if they still have it.
ReplyDeleteNichole and Heather - the fireplace screen was a random lucky find on Ebay. This one from Studio ten 25 is kind of similar (esp if you paint it white).
Michelle H - the campaign table came from Pier 1...sadly, they don't have it anymore!
Very nice. I love your entry, very simple but festive. You're in the spirit and ahead of me with the Christmas decorating!
