My last foray led me to a snazzy shop called Fabulousmess. They have all kinds of cool vintage wares including lighting, casegoods, upholstery, and accessories. Some things have been updated, and some are in their original condition. Their prices are a little on the high side but they have a nice mix and do a good job of merchandising, so that's worth something. Here's a sampling of their selection...
This faux bamboo armoire could cheer up even the dreariest of rooms...
This pair of tufted stools is so stinking cute that I can hardly stand it...
What a great bench, right? The juxtaposition of the red patent upholstery with the carved wood detailing is perfect...
I so wish I could see these in person because I think they'd be awesome in my entry. Never seen anything else quite like them...
I'm liking everything in this vignette, especially the green lamps...
Orange + Chinoiserie + lamps = something that I'm very likely to buy
Dorothy Draper-esque chest with just the right amount of gold...
These slipper chairs look strikingly similar to Jonathan Adler's Addison chair...
SUPER cool globe pendant (I seriously want this)...
Button-Tufted stools in fabulous chartreuse...
Vintage lamps with quirky new shades...
Unique accent table...
I LOVE this planter box, but I'd have to lacquer it.

ReplyDeleteWow - what a great find, Kyle. It's like an online version of Again & Again! (I just wonder how their shipping runs??) I'm a huge Etsy fan too but usually stick to smaller handcrafted items, like jewelry. But this post has certainly opened my mind! xo annie
ReplyDeleteAnnie - it is kind of like an online version of Again & Again! A & A's prices have gotten a little high so I haven't been in a while...will have to pop by there soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat great finds. I absolutely LOVE the pink cabinet. I also appreciate the time it must have taken you to trawl through the Etsy site. I was doing just the same thing yesterday - trying to find some unusual artwork for a client... I must have spent over an hour looking through things! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIs it weird that I like the needlepoint?!?
ReplyDeleteBee Street - no it's not weird :) I love needlepoint!
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing! You may also like a Dallas artist named Nicole Horn who repurposes similar items out of her studio in Oak Cliff. I met her the Dallas Flea this year and she has some great stuff. Her site is www.modernrelics.net
