A Bit of News

Well, it's not new news, but I wanted to let you all know that I decided to part ways with High Gloss. I made the call a few weeks ago and I should've posted about it sooner, but I'm not really good with grand announcements of any sort. After receiving lots of emails and comments about the matter, I thought it best to set the record straight for everyone here.

While I won't get into the full spectrum of circumstances that prompted the change, I will say that it was a difficult but necessary decision to make and I'm excited about moving on and exploring other opportunities that make more sense for me. In any case, I appreciate the encouragement and support that so many of you offered up throughout the venture!

Like so many instances in life, I'm looking at this through the "when one door closes, another one opens" lens. Part of that "next door" is devoting more time to design work. By making more room in my life for that, I'll be able to take on more clients, especially more local clients. Up to this point, e-design has been the only service that I could really fit into my schedule. While I enjoy the challenges of digital decorating, e-design projects haven't allowed me to build a comprehensive portfolio. So, I'm looking forward to working with more people in and around Dallas...and of course, sharing my design adventures with all of you!

Totally unrelated to the subject above, this is my dogwood tree in bloom. Just thought the post could use a pretty photo!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope that everyone is feeling loved today! And don't forget to dish some love out to the ones you care about. If you're just now realizing that it's V-Day and you need to get a last-minute plan into action, then check out Paperless Post's Valentine Cards and start emailing some love to your nearest and dearest.  Even the smallest gesture can mean a lot to someone. L-O-V-I-N-G COCOCOZY!

Wow...long time, no blog! I'm so sorry for my absence lately. As previously mentioned, the first issue of High Gloss made its debut last week so I've been working away on that and I spent last week in New York for our launch party and meetings. Sadly, blogging just hasn't fit into the hectic schedule, but I'm happy to be back at it now.

One of the best things about my involvement with High Gloss is that I get to see all of the latest and greatest in home decor. One of the most notable new lines is the brainchild of a fellow blogger, Coco of COCOCOZY. She has produced a gorgeous collection of fine linen decorative pillows, drapery, bedding, and cotton throws. It was so nice to see fresh, refined-yet-casual fabrics and I was so smitten with her designs that I included two of her pillows in the following High Gloss market spread:

Anyhow, I just adore the rest of the collection and wanted to share some of it with you. With lots of fabulous patterns and colors, it all looks perfectly comfy and chic. Kudos to Coco for producing such a fabulous, fresh line of soft goods!

It's Here! High Gloss Has Arrived!

I'm so excited to finally share High Gloss Magazine with you...our first issue has officially gone live! I'm completely in love with the cover...the images from this shoot are just amazing. Honestly, the content is strong there are fabulous photos throughout the whole publication, so hurry on over to the High Gloss site and take a look!

High Gloss Debuts Next Week!

Sorry I've been out of touch this week. High Gloss Magazine is publishing its first issue next Tuesday, so I've had my nose to the grindstone working on that. It's turning out beautifully and I'm really excited to share it.
