Inspired by Timothy Whealon

Last week I ordered some things from One Kings Lane (will report on that tomorrow) and after hitting the "place order" button, I jammed around in the site's "Get Inspired" section. It is a big list of top designers and each profile includes a write-up, a few tips from the designer, and some snapshots from their portfolio.

Timothy Whealon was a notable favorite of mine. His aesthetic is classic, yet super stylish. Quite the chameleon, he is masterful with colorful patterns as well as blank-slate neutrals. There is also an innovative mix of lighting throughout his spaces, a facet of decor that I always notice. Be sure to check it his portfolio, lots of inspiring rooms await you. Here are some of his greatest hits...at least, according to yours truly:

Such a great mix of traditional and contemporary elements in this dining room.

Neutral doesn't have to be boring.

I love the furniture arrangement in this room.

Cool use of a bookcase as a room divider - I think this was from a smaller space.

I have a kidney-shaped desk/vanity that needs refinishing...I love this so much that I just might have to have a slipcover made instead!

Such a gorgeous bathroom.

This entry makes me green with envy...I'd die for paneling.

Boho-chic ikat sofa.

Pretty vignette...I'll always love white + pops of color.

The overhead light and the tufted/piped sofa are amazing. Not going to lie, the rug makes my skin crawl. I have serious texture issues and do not believe in using difficult-to-clean floor coverings.

I hope this little girl knows how lucky she is to have such an awesome room!

The structured canopy bed is so refreshing...the color combo in the room is too. I'm betting that the ridiculously amazing chandelier came first and everything else came together around that.

From Christie's in New York.
