We
finally got the molding up in the
middle guest bedroom that I painted a while back. The blue has less green than I had originally wanted, but I really like the color as it stands. As you'll see from the photos below, I'm still playing around with lamps, accent tables, and bed placement. Once I get that issue settled, the next task will be getting the walls dressed and I'd like to get a rug. What do you think of it so far?

Amazing! Love that lamp
ReplyDeleteHi! I've been reading your blog for a while, but have never commented! I love everything about your house - it's great!
ReplyDeleteI had looked at this bedding for my own bed, but thought twice after reading all of the reviews about the color fading/running when you washed it. Did you have that problem?
Thanks! Ashely
looks awesome! love the wall color. i'm playing around with this color combo for our master bedroom. the darker blue is the bedding, our headboard will be a brown annie selke fabric, and then orange velvet euro shams. nice to see it all work so well together here. pam
ReplyDeletecan you post a link for the curtains? i'd love those for the office!!! LOVE YOUR BLOG and HOME!
ReplyDeleteLove the orange and blue (great find on the walmart goods!) I like the bed made up as a daybed best...maybe on the left wall?
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
xoxo, cassie
I once saw a coral/creme greek key rug somewhere on your blog before that I keep thinking about. Wouldn't that work in that room?
ReplyDeleteWalmart? Get out! I can't believe they have something so modern and chic. I adore the bedroom!
ReplyDeleteKarla
FAB!! Can you provide any details on the bed itself? I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteGREAT JOB!
So when can I come stay? Are you taking reservations for this AMAZING bedroom??
ReplyDeleteI love that wall color and I'm particularly impressed with the Walmart purchases. Target had better get it in gear!
ReplyDeleteOk so I love the colors, but I'm not crazy about the wall of curtains. Are you trying to hide an ugly wall? Just not sure what the thought is behind that. It's totally possible that I just missed something!
ReplyDeleteLook at this gorgeous room!! These colors are amazing! And that bed? Beautiful! Such inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI love the color combos and the patterns. I think once you place art on the walls and finish the room, it will be as fab as the rest of your home. Great job!!!
ReplyDeleteI just ordered this duvet, but I couldn't find the curtains. Did you get them from walmart also? Please email me and let me know. I would love to have curtains as well. We just painted out room a soft blue and they would really pop against the walls. my email is markanddonna@bellsouth.net Thanks!!!
ReplyDeletelove the color combo! Very excited for the final result. My two cents, which don't mean much, would be that I prefer the day bed centered over pushed into the corner. I'm sure you already tried it on the blue walls, but wondering how that would look. Also as for a rug, I'd defintely add one to ground the room. I'm thinking a soft sheepskin or something that adds a soft and inviting touch to the bold colors/patterns. Maybe the Flokati rug at Ikea? Here's a link: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10093942 You could also hang a piece of art in from of the curtains to break it up and add strength to that wall/bed as the focal point (if you can anchor it enough that you wouldn't fear it falling on the sleeping guests (so it looks as if its floating). How fun!
ReplyDeletefor all of those wondering where the curtains can be found I bet she just used the reverse side of the duvet and used 2 sets. That's my guess. I'm ordering the king size duvet to try it out as a curtain in my entryway.
ReplyDeleteA room like this would be ideal for a drafting table, fly tying station, or possibly an oversized gun safe that houses important family belongings.
ReplyDeleteIm like everyone else. Wal-Mart? Seriously...this is amazing. To help you guys out she linked the Wal-Mart info in the list. Just click on it.

ReplyDeleteGreat color combination. Love the dark blue wall-so chic!
ReplyDeleteYou are a rockstar! Walmart? Ya don't say! I love that color, I wanted to use that color but chickened our and painted a grey beige. My husband will kill me if I ask him to lift a paint brush but I love this look!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love it! The blue with the orange and white is just fabulous. And I can't believe the duvet and curtains are from Wal-Mart!
ReplyDeleteWal-Mart! I love it. You have amazing style as evidenced by this room.
ReplyDeleteIts so amazing! I love the bold colours! LOVE that you found something at Walmart of all places!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the blue wall color with the orange curtains and duvet! I'm actually trying to work out a similar color scheme in my new apartment. I think I might have to try using the duvet as curtains. I have french doors and sliding glass patio doors to cover in my room (the den is my bedroom). Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteKyle,
ReplyDeleteI just noticed you mentioned where you found the orange accent pillow in this post....so just ignore my earlier request from the last post!
Have a great day....(I'm so enjoying reading all your other posts!)
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteI ordered this duvet and LOVE it! It's in my guest room which has sage green walls (for now). Other than the reverse side orange curtains, what would you put on sage green walls to tie it all together?
help!
Anon - I'm having a hard time picturing the sage green so I'd have to see a photo to offer up a decent opinion.
ReplyDeleteWhere is that beautiful chair from?
ReplyDeleteHow did you do the curtains? Did you simply sow rings onto the duvet?
