I happily went to ABC Carpet and Home and the Conran Shop (in ABC Home). I swear, I could spend hours in there...especially after discovering the stash of close-out priced Madeline Weinrib rugs and pillows in the basement. Also, I wish I hadn't eaten lunch right before I went because their restaurant, ABC Kitchen, looked awesome. Despite loving lots of things I saw in the store, I responsibly came out without any purchases.
Then I scooted over to Fish's Eddy and bought a set of aqua dish towels and gray and blue striped straws. Random, I know, but both were irresistibly cute and I was definitely itching to buy something.
I also got to pop into CB2, which was fun because I've never been into one of their stores before. While there, I bought an acrylic tray that I've been lusting over for a while. To me it's a needless necessity, but my husband could not wrap his head around why I purchased yet another tray for our house. I explained that I was really being thrifty by getting this tray instead of the more expensive Dabney Lee beauty that I really want! In any case, I like my new tray. Here it is keeping some magazines and books from getting out of hand...
I wish I'd had more time in the city, because I have looong list of stores to hit up. I need to get up there again soon and dedicate more time to shopping!
Do you have any favorite stores in New York?
I can't wait to go to NY one day!
ReplyDeleteYour home makes me swoon, so beautiful!!
The tray is certainly nice. You have a small lucite side table...right? I can see why you went for it. Its subtle...but ya know its there.

I just love your style (and not just because we have similar taste). The milk glass, navy accents, and the adorable lamps. I can't wait to put the final touches on my home...hope that it is just as lovely.
ReplyDeleteHi Kyle!
ReplyDeleteJust stumbled upon your blog via a High Gloss magazine announcement. I'm a DFW lifestyle blogger too and was excited to see that you are close by. Were you at Nest last week for Beth & Kelly's Post Blogger Social? Maybe I just missed you. :-(
Love the blog!
My hubs would say the same thing...but glad you got it anyway :)
ReplyDeleteI love the lucite tray...uber cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a good trip here!
ReplyDeleteFishs Eddy is such a gem - I love that place! Next time you'll have to check out ABC Kitchen - it's really fun.
One of my favorite stores here in NYC is this little antique decor shop in the East Village called the Upper Rust. The last time I was there, they had the large tin numbers from an old filling station's price display. We snagged a 3 and I can't wait to include it in the wall grouping I'm working on.
Kate - Thanks for the tip on Upper Rust...it sounds awesome!
ReplyDeleteHilaryInspired - unfortunately I had to miss the blogger social because I was in New York...I was so sad to see the date when I got the invite because I knew I had a conflict. Hopefully I can make it to the next one!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love your couch. Where did you get it?
ReplyDeleteI love your diamond area rug! Where did you find it?
ReplyDeleteI'm also interested to know where you got your couch! It's exactly the style I have been looking for, although I'm looking for dark grey.
ReplyDeleteI aso would love to know where you found your couch! Love your style.
ReplyDeleteI would also love to know about the couch, either where it's from or who it is made by. Love, love!
ReplyDeleteHi all - the sofa is made by Sherrill. If you type sectional and/or sofa into the search bar, lots more info about it will pull up.
