Princess Margaret Showhome

I was reading the Rock Paper Scissors blog over the weekend and swooned over the moody, dark kitchen shown in this post. I clicked through the photo source link and wasn't surprised to land on the Canadian House & Home site. H&H is a fantastic shelter mag that consistently showcases awesome interiors. Anyhow, the kitchen is from the 2010 Princess Margaret Showhome, which was featured in their December issue.

If it were my kitchen, I'd probably rather have a hard-working island rather than a table behind my range, but the look of the table is really gorgeous. I am really digging the paneled, semi-gloss ceiling...it definitely keeps the space from getting too heavy.

The bathrooms were standout spaces as well. I especially liked the following two that were clad with timeless, beautiful Carrera marble.

The dark shower curtain in this one provides a nice does of contrast.

My favorite elements in this one are the flooring and the chandelier. The light fixture is very similar to the one used by Colleen McGill in the aforementioned entry-of-my-desire.

It's called the Convertible Double Canopy Chandelier and it was sourced from ELTE. You can also get it from Shades of Light (it's called the the Deco Glam Chandelier there).

A definite foil to the light and airy bathrooms, I also liked the study...especially the paint job!

Head over to H&H and take a tour of the whole house. I just cherry-picked the rooms that I liked best, but it's nice to see the whole thing. I'd love to know which rooms you liked best, so report back!

  3. love the chandelier above the bath. I really love the designs in each of these rooms...great post:)

  4. Kyle. Amazing article. My name is Andrew Metrick and I'm from Elte. I'm actually the fourth generation at Elte. It was started by my grandfather more than ninety years ago. I just wanted to thank you for giving us credit on a few of those items in the pictures you featured. We provided a host of products for that home and many of which can be seen in your photos. It wasn't even a question really. It was a great cause and we obviously knew the home was going to be spectacular. There's so many happening trends that are visible in that home. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that this is a terrific blog and that we appreciate the mention. Keep up the amazing work and all the best Kyle. Andrew.

  5. STUNNING - I am in LOVE with these spaces...saving them for inspiration for my future home!
