Round Top Time

Here in Texas, Round Top is in full swing right now. If you aren't familiar with it, Round Top is a big antiques show/fair in the middle of Texas. I will probably head down there tomorrow...kind of bummed that I couldn't go earlier, but it will be fun despite my quasi late arrival. I get too amped up about getting to these kinds of things early!

Since I can only squeeze one day into my schedule, I'll probably go straight to Warrenton which is my favorite spot. Marburger is very cool too, but it's more expensive and usually more crowded. I'll also be tracking down Leslie Pritchard, the grande dame of Again & Again, because she has a booth this year and I'm sure it's amazing! Leslie's been posting Round Top pics to the Again & Again Facebook page and it's making me very jealous :)

Here are some shots from my past trips...

These were AMAZING Moroccan glass tiles...I so wished I had a place for them at the time!

Here's a beautiful Texas sunset from the fields!

Do any of you go to Round Top? What are your favorite dealers and booths? I love Excess and Love Train antiques and lots of others that I know where they are, but not what they are called :)

  1. I was lucky and got to go on Monday for a little while. My girlfriend is back out there today. Last year I went on the last day and that was the day to get some deals! No one wants to pack up their stuff and they are definitely negotiating. Have fun!!

  2. So funny. I grew up in central Texas and my family would drag me to Round Top every year. I did not enjoy it! Now, here I am in my late 20s, love design, love scouring places like this for antiques...and I live in California. From what I can remember, Round Top is actually a lot of fun! Enjoy it and I hope you find something pretty.

  4. And I am very, very jealous of YOU! I was all set on going this weekend for my first time but I will be 39 weeks preggo then and we just decided it wasn't worth the risk - its a 2 hours drive from our home. Sigh... Please do share what you saw there!!

  6. Do you remember who has the booth with the spherical chandys shown in your picture? Seems like there should be some way to diy these.

  7. LOL my husband has a kudu mount like that from his African safari hunt but I won't let him bring it home. It's at his parents where they have space and similar African inspired decor. Who knew that was "in" right now?
