Party Balloons

After months filled with weighty happenings like Benghazi, Hurricane Sandy, and of course, the crazily contentious presidential election, I thought I'd pop in and offer up a tidbit that's quite frivolous, happy, and literally airy (not that I normally cover anything hard-hitting here).

I'm here to profess my love for 36" round balloons. They just scream, "PARTY!" and who doesn't love that? I highly recommend getting some for your next shindig. These balloons are huge and thus they bring a wallop of color to any space, and are really effective outdoors where floral arrangements can get lost. There's something about the spherical shape and the exaggerated size that makes them more sophisticated than the traditional balloon. They are such an easy decoration (aside from transporting them in a car...that took some engineering) and they are so cheery and festive. Don't you agree? Here are some pics of some at my house after a party we recently hosted...

And here is a menagerie of black and white ones that were used at a wedding in Paris...aren't they stunning?

What are you thinking? Are you loving these oversized balloons as much as I do?

Let's Party

Not right now, but soon. I swear I still have a headache from NYE champagne! Anyhow, I stumbled across this party supply site that will serve as a great resource for future shindigs. Save on Crafts - they have ALL KINDS of stuff. For instance...

I have a thing for julep cups, whether they are holding booze or flowers, they are perfect!

A Champagne bucket for $22?!?
Only thing that could make it better...have an engraver put a monogram on it.

I'll be getting these for 2010's Christmas tree

After coveting the WS Home mirrored placemats, I'm thinking of getting these instead since they are less than $6 a piece! 14" Beveled Edge Mirror
