Bed Facelift with Auto Body Paint

I just got the old wooden bed back from Again & Again and it sure does look pretty now! MAJOR improvement over the old look...it used to have a cheesy rustic/distressed finish and now it's all glossy and sleek. I chose to go with an aqua auto body paint color like I mentioned in this post. It turned out great and I love that the color plays nice with the painting on the nightstand. It was painted by my grandmother in 1934.

I'm so glad that the old bed could be revamped. It's always nice to be able to use what you already have! Here are some shots of the bed...I played around a bit with different pillows and throws. I think I like the last one best with the duvet. What about you?

Here is the bed made up with my beloved COCOCOZY throw...

Then I played with some of the pillows from the living room...

Finally, here's the duvet that I've had on the bed...

What do you think of the bed? I think it's super fun and breathes new life into the room. Thanks to Again & Again for doing such a great paint job!

  5. Love! I recently painted my guest room gray and I've been considering possible accent colors... I absolutely love the turquoise! The black and white accents provide the contrast-y look that I cannot resist.

  6. Looks wonderful! I think I am partial to the look in images 3 and 4... I love that COCOCOZY throw... thanks for the tip! And, of course, the blue and white in the zig zag print pillow adds a nice soft touch.

    1. Hi Christy, it is grey! It's a warm gray that definitely changes with the light in the room.

  11. Looks great! I think every room could use a little aqua and that bed makes such a big statement with it.

But where did you get that chair? I want to have one just like that in our new master bedroom.

  16. Hi everyone, the paint color is very similar to SW's Mindful Gray, however, I will tell you that I mixed the actual color myself, so it's not exactly that formula.
