Favorite Fabric: Malay Ikat

I posted some spectacular spaces on Tuesday from revered fabric and wallpaper purveyor Thibaut. They make one the best Greek key-esque fabrics called Malay Ikat. I was having problems loading the photos of the fabric on the site and thankfully Molly at Thibaut was kind enough to send them to me so that I could share them with you. In both spaces the fabric is used on upholstery and it looks fantastic. I especially love the large scale of the repeat. I'd love to use it on a chair or two in my house but the color options aren't working for me...perhaps Thibaut will add an orange or a cool gray to the lineup ;)

The Turquoise (W98689) colorway was used on these chic little chairs...

And in the Lime (W98690) colorway...

Here are all of the color options...

What do you think of the fabric? What colorways would you add if you got to choose? I'm thinking that pink would also be super cute!

Matchbox Source

Sorry to withhold the information on the Greek key matchbox I showed yesterday! After a some comments and emails, I figured I'd better disseminate the link...especially since it's gifting season. I actually purchased mine at a local Dallas store, William-Christopher Design, but they are available online at Shandells. These make for a great hostess gift since they are pretty and useful. I love having mine by the fireplace so I don't have to fumble around the junk drawer for matchbooks when we want to light a fire.

They have lots of different design options including these favorites of mine...

I also thought these marbleized chandelier shades could be a fun accent. I'm all about the orange ones. I wished they had provided a photo of them in action.

Anyone going to buy matchboxes? Which design are you getting? I'd also love to know if you order the chandelier shades.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

A House Full of Greek Key

Guess who is on a quest to sneak some Greek key into every room of her house? Big shocker...c'est moi. My efforts are progressing nicely and I can now cross the bedroom off the list. I snagged some fabulous shams on clearance at Z Gallerie. Not only are they are embroidered with my beloved motif, the embroidery thread is the same color as the bluish stripe on the sheets we already have. That's what I call destiny.

The overall effect isn't much different, but I love the slight change.

I can also cross the living room off the list thanks to this cute this box of matches. Orange, check...Greek key, check. Oh yeah, I already have a GK pillow in the room. And it's orange. Oh well, the more the merrier!

It's the little things.

I still have lots of rooms to hit. I'll definitely be adding some Greek key trimmed bolster pillows like Mary McDonald uses in her rooms. In my dream bathroom there will be some fabulous GK tile work going on...it will be amazing. Hopefully I'll still like it when I'm 50, because that's probably when I'll actually get to undertake the remodel!

Are any of you obsessed with a particular motif? It's probably a good thing if you aren't!

Have you been making any little updates around your house? It's nice to add things here and there...keeps the place feeling fresh, don't you think?

Friday Finds

Here are a few odds and ends that you should know about...because I think they are cool. Good reason, right?

Bond Lamp - Jonathan Adler

Fouta Towels - Horchow

*Sorry about the "click image to zoom" button in the middle of the product images. The silly Horchow web designers need to refrain from putting it there. Such a bad idea!

Greek Key Ribbon - M&J Trimming

I want to get this Luggage Rack and put the ribbon above on the straps.

How cute would this pillow combo be? Red Bird - CB2 and Zig Zag - Etsy

Guest Towel - The Picket Fence
Towels for our powder bath have been on my watch list for the longest time...I think these are what I've been looking for!

Hope you've enjoyed this retail scouting report. Any favorites?
Have a good weekend!

In with the New

I've been making the rounds, checking out online retailers' new goods. Here's what I like best from Horchow:

Industrial yet refined...casters also come in handy for vacuuming :)

Sideboard - this shape is so pretty.
It's deeper (and more expensive, of course) than what I had in mind, but it would look great in my dining room!

Looks like Lulu DK! Really cute stuff.

"Baroque" Mirror - love that yellow lamp too.

My list of sconces I want is out of control.

Chelsea Table Lamp - also comes in black.
I adore this...neutral but still unique and whimsical.

Great concept though I wish it came in fun lacquered colors a la Jonathan Adler. If they weren't a whopping $85 a pop, I'd probably be inclined to spray paint + poly them myself.

Their prices are a bit inflated, in my humble opinion. So, if you can't live without something from above, be sure to sign up for their emails because they often have sales (sometimes up to 30% off) and free shipping events!

Looking for new bedding for the new year?

Try this one from Z Gallerie. I'm partial to the embroidered "Modern Key" portion of the set, so I think they need to step it up and get the duvet in that pattern.

Sale at Frontgate

I have a few items I hope to purchase from Frontgate now that their WHOLE site is on sale (promo code XXM89076).

I of course love the orange on this rug...just a little worried that the background is too beige...hmm.Two of these would be perfect around our pool. They look easy to move around which is a nice feature.

I'm probably going to use this outdoor Greek key rug in our study. The dog door was officially installed in the study door on Friday so this will be the dogs' new domain...so I'm thinking that a rug that can be hosed off will be key.

Wow - as if my dogs aren't already spoiled enough. I'm pretty sure Jazzy would dominate this.
