Orange Crush

You've probably caught on to the fact that I love orange. In case you haven't yet, today I'm making my sentiments pretty clear. I've officially declared my devotion to the color in our covered patio with an Orange Crush vintage sign that I scored during my semi-annual trip to Round Top.

I'm not really into signs, but this one just jumped out at me...probably because the color palette and size were perfect for filling the void on the wall. Since the sign is made to be hung outdoors, it really is ideal for the area.

I also nabbed this cool wire basket.

I've been on the look-out for one that is a good size for beach towels and this one fit the bill.

What do you think of the sign...kind of fun or cheesy? Be honest :)

  4. I think it's gutsy and refreshing -- no pun intended.
The overall color scheme is like a Hermes box gone light and left outdoors to sun a spell -- fun and authentic and ties the throw pillow and curtains together nicely. Much better than those atrocious (sorry) outdoor canvases.

  7. I like it. The sign ties in well with the overall color scheme for the area. By the way, what do you think of the greek key tables at Williams-Sonoma Home? http://www.wshome.com/shop/furniture-living-room-dining/coffee-end-tables/index.cfm?cm%5Ftype=gnav

  8. LOOOOOVE it. Love the colors, love the size, love it with your black and white striped curtains, and I am insanely jealous of your entire patio, if you must know.

  11. I've been visiting your blog for some time now, I'm really bad at commenting, sorry :(
I think the sign is super cute, actually my first reaction was "she is so freakn' cute!"

Also the Moroccan table from a few posts down is actually Persian. I thought it was Arabic calligraphy at first but it seems more Persian(Iran) or Farsi(Afghanistan).

    I absolutely love your style!

  15. * You said you're not usually "into" signs, BUUUT Kyle, you found T*H*E one that SPOKE to you, and THAT'S what makes it soooo DELIGHTFUL & PERSONAL & just FUN!!!

Your wire basket is just perfect~~ I have a similar one (& w/ monogrammed beach towels, no less), but I've learned (in the five years we've been here now), that I can only set it out WHEN we're actually needing them, or having company... We have "teeeeny-weeeny critters" as WELL as big ones, w/ whom we share this desert climate, & a scorpion bite is pretty darned awful , so I really have to "watch it"!!! ("So far, so good, tho!!!)...

    ALWAYS enjoying you blog... thanks!
    Warmest,

  19. Kyle,
Love your sign. I wanted to know where you go shop at Round Top? Where do you park, etc? It will be my first time going.
    Thanks

  20. I love it! I like how you have incorporated your color scheme and design elements that you have inside into the out. The sign brings whimsy to the space and takes the serious edge off the area denoting it as an outside fun area while in keeping with your indoor style.
