Just before I left for Jackson Hole last Wednesday, I picked up a pillow that I had monogrammed at Madison, one of my favorite Dallas shops. I got back in town yesterday and finally had a chance to marvel at how great the pillow looks with its new embellishment.
Madision has an in-house embroidery guru and he is capable of executing some seriously exquisite monogram designs. I love the raised border and the contrasting fill color in the one he did for me...
If you're looking to do something similar, check out the new Sachin + Babi for Ankasa line. They have lots of embellished pillows with a center area that would be a perfect spot for a monogram.
The only downside to the collection is the price tag...not going to lie, it's pretty hefty. I have seen these pillows in person, however, and the quality is outstanding.
If you're looking for a more affordable option, check out Luxury Monograms. They have some fabulous pillows too!

NYC Apartment
One of my best friends just moved into a new apartment in New York and needs to jazz up her bedroom. She bought some blue curtains at Crate and Barrel and has a white comforter and dark brown furniture. Luckily, the room is a blank slate so she has plenty of freedom in choosing accent colors. The downside to that situation is that the possibilities can seem endless, which is quite overwhelming.
It helps to find at least one item with color that you absolutely love. Starting with a key accessory like a lamp, a pillow, a throw, or rug makes the rest of the process easy because you have a palette/style to work with. To help her in the decision-making process, I've given some examples of how the blue curtains can be used as a jumping-off point for many different palettes, through a variety of accessories. I tried to use well-priced items that she can easily get in the city or order from the internet. Hopefully, something will catch her eye and we can build the room out from there.

I'd love to hear everyone's favorites...whether it's a whole set or just a particular item or color palette! Also, if you have other ideas and suggestions, send them my way :)

Pillow Source
Was sorting through my inbox and was so glad to run across Hable Construction as a fun new pillow source.
I spotted their totes/bags in Daily Candy Deals email (code DCHABLE will get you 25% off the items in the "Carry" section). The cheerful yet sophisticated prints shown in the email lured me in and it was nice to find that they had a "Decorate" section on the Hable site. In hand-printed cotton canvas and linen, their fabrics make for excellent accent pillows. Hable offers custom sizes including a euro sham option, which is awesome.
Not going to lie, the prices are a little steep. I'm guessing that their quality is exceptional and warrants the price tag, but it's hard to tell online. Speak up if any of you have reviews! Here are a few of my favorites...
Also...sorry about the unannounced blogging hiatus! Last weekend was hectic and there weren't many spare moments during this week, so Knight Moves got neglected. Lots of little projects have been completed, so at least I've been productive and can report on the progress next week. Anyhow, despite the recent lack of posts, I hope you'll bear with me and will keep reading :)

I also saw these nifty hampers and bushels in the storage section....pretty cute way to stash laundry, blankets, toys, etc. A bushel would be perfect for our pool towels.

Sofa Love
I'm scouting sofas for both the formal living room and the den. I want something comfortable and tailored/polished. Here are some I like so far:

Nailhead trim...Jayson H&G, of course

Though not normally a fan of sectionals I like this color and style....from High Fashion Home

I'm pretty obsessed with tufted sofas and I LOVE this one in ivory linen...I adore the shape, the bolsters, and the legs! Greyson Sofa by Bobo Intriguing Objects

The tufting, bolsters, and piping make this one hard to beat...from Urban Colony
