Random Pink Picks

Bits of pink keep popping up on my lust list. It's funny how you find tons of great things in the one color that you're not specifically hunting for, isn't it? Well, I have no client projects that require pink nor do I need anything in that color for my own house. So of course, I have a digital war chest of rose colored goodies with no place to put them. But I figured, perhaps some of you need some pink...

Il Conte Arm ChairHand Painted Silk Scarf "Allyson" - Firenze Velvet Tassel Pillow -  X-Bench - Double
Reversible Canvas Storage Bin - Tea Room Wall Mirror
Custom Color Lutyens Bench - Richardson Allen - Ana Candles Striped Tapers - Stem-To-Stem Candlestick

Any favorites? I'm really loving the double X-Bench and would pick that if I could only have one thing from the grab bag. The hand-painted scarf is another favorite...it's made by Kate Thomas. Her Etsy store, Little Things Studio, has lots of cool, one-of-a-kind options in a wide array of colors. I've been stalking her creations for a while and one of these days, I'll have some pillows made out of the scarves and/or have a couple framed.

Color Obsession - Warm Red

I've always loved oranges, corals, pinks, and reds and lately I've been so drawn to a color that combines that whole tonal range. You could call it a variety of things (neon saffron or hot coral, perhaps?) but Pantone's label is warm red, so I'll go with that. Here are some buyables along with the Pantone swatch to give you a visual of what I'm talking about:

XOXO Acrylic Occasional Table Red - Alexandra Von Furstenberg --- Hand Printed Cotton Fabric - Etsy - $9.50
Per Lutken Bulge Vase - Etsy - $190 --- Backgammon Set - Barney's - $795 --- Painting - Emily Rickard
Afghan Turkoman Runner - Oak Park Antiques - $1,195 --- Kim Seybert Latticed Cocktail Napkin - Barney's - $12

As you can see, the color is super saturated and bright and it looks amazing against dark hues like navy blue and brown and with neutral shades like camel and ivory. I like it alongside navy so much that I'm considering painting a vanity with warm red lacquer to go in my newly blue bedroom. I picked up this nail polish (Revlon Fearless 640) in case I want to do a color match...

What do you think about the color? It's definitely not for the faint of heart!

Gigi New York All in One Bag Giveaway Winner!

As many of you know, I got to host an awesome giveaway courtesy of Gigi New York...the new style brand of Graphic Image. The loot is an oh-so-gorgeous and functional All in One Bag and Gigi was kind enough to send me one as well. It was tough to pick a color (they are all fab), but I decided on the fuchsia embossed python because I don't have a hot pink bag in my current lineup and that's just not right.

Well, I received my All in One, emblazoned with my initials, and I absolutely adore it! It is super chic and very well made, plus it holds just the right amount of stuff. My grab-and-go essentials - wallet, phone, gum, sunglasses, small tape measure, and lip gloss - fit perfectly inside and the thickness of the exterior leather and suede lining keep everything from bulging through. Also, it slides into my larger bags so it will go everywhere with me now, whether I'm carrying it as a clutch or sticking it in my work tote or gym bag.

I'm so obsessed that I just had to have a photo shoot so you could see the quality, texture, and scale:

My essentials...

The inside is just as luxe as the outside...

A Wall Full of Pink Art

A wall full of pink art sounds pretty extreme, right? Well, surprisingly I'm kind of loving the idea after playing with it on a board. Lately I've had numerous projects that have required artwork selection so I've been on the hunt for well-priced original work. During my searches, I keep gravitating towards pieces that include the color pink. Maybe it is because I'm looking for a few little girls' rooms or maybe it is because pink is EVERYWHERE lately and I can't get it out of my head.

In any case, I'm determined to incorporate some pink artwork into my own home now. I've been pinning tons of options and have been placing some pieces in mood boards for clients, so I had lots of pink pieces handy in Photoshop and decided to create a whole wall with a pink theme. All of the art below is from Etsy and all are originals except for the vintage Audubon print (which I framed with Larson-Juhl's awesome frame design tool). It's a pretty fun mix, right?

Taboo
The Blue and Green Trees
Flight
Flamingo Audubon Print
Blush
Farm Fresh Bouquet
The Pink Elephant
Likid Lebete

Also on the board is another recent obsession, the 108" long John Derian Field Bench with Back, which is made by a fav manufacturer of mine, Cisco Brothers. For years I've lusted after the normal Field Bench and now that it is available with a back I'm completely infatuated with owning one. In the board I paired it with two Casbah side tables from Jayson Home & Garden and two mini crystal lamps from Empiric.

What do you think of the crazy pink wall? Do you like any of the specific pieces?
